Keep this in mind – Once a horse has been bitten by a mosquito carrying the virus, it may take 5 to 15 days for signs of West Nile Virus to appear. While there is NO specific treatment for West Nile, your veterinarian may still be able to save your horses life.

Here are some signs
of West Nile Virus:

• Inability to stand up
• Loss of appetite
• Stumbling or
   tripping
• Wandering or
   circling

Our Typical Barn Fly Spray System

Our typical barn fly spray system consists of the following:

1. A 55-gallon polyethylene drum with lockable lid filled
    with Liquid Gold insecticide.
2. A ½ HP electric motor
3. A 140 GPH high-capacity pump
4. A 24-hour electric timer with lockable lid.
5. Nickel-plated and brass spray nozzles with stainless
    steel tips.
6. High pressure Ό” nylon tubing.

The system “head” consists of the motor, pump and timer mounted to the top of the drum lid. The system also comes with a float assembly that shuts the system off and a red light will come on when the insecticide gets too low.

This system has the capacity to spray up to 100 nozzles and about 1400 feet of tubing. The nickel-plated nozzles are designed to accurately spray a fine mist of insecticide when the system turns on. All nozzles are designed with Presto-Loc fittings for ease of installation. We offer a wide variety of nickel-plated and brass nozzles and fittings such as tees, unions, and elbows.

In a typical barn installation, nozzles are placed over each stall, 10' x 10' or 12' x 12' over the wash rack, even over the feed area. Nozzles are also placed over the center aisle opposite every other stall. This method should give your barn complete coverage.

The tubing and nozzles can be attached to the barn using tie wraps, plastic tubing clips, wire and other supporting methods.
